Portsmouth Without even leaving Portsmouth Harbour there are some great places to visit. Take the Gosport Ferry for a 5 minute trip across the harbour to Portsmouth. You will be spoilt for choice with the Historic Dockyard, Old Portsmouth and Gunwharf Quays all within easy walking distance.
Sail up the harbour to Port Solent where you can berth overnight and choose from a number to top class restuarants and bars or even catch up with the latest movie at the cinema.
Cowes is the home of UK sailing and racing and famous throughout the world. It is one of the most visited ports on the South Coast and is host to an unequalled number of racing events and cruising rallies every year. In the summer it plays host the the largest yacht race in the racing calender, the annual Round the Island Race organised by the Island Sailing Club.
Yarmouth is located on the western side of the Isle of Wight and is based around its natural harbour which is guarded by Yarmouth Castle. The Harbour is popular with yachts and motor cruisers taking advantage of the excellent facilities as well as the varied range of shops and delightful eating establishments in the bustling town.
Hamble The River Hamble is a major centre for all types of recreational boating situated close to Southampton water and just across the Solent from Cowes. The river is home to thousands of sailing yachts and motorboats and several marinas. There is a wide range of superb pubs and restaurants many bordering the river Hamble itself.
Lymington Lymington harbour is situated in an attractive estuary two miles long with the picturesque entrance channel lying between salt marshes grazed by New Forest ponies. There are two marinas and at the Town Quay offering convenient berthing facilities a short walk from the quaint Georgian town centre with its fascinating Saturday market. The wide range of pubs and restaurants are too too numerous to mention.
