So what is included in the course cost?
Well, unlike some other centres, we include all your meals (Breakfast, lunches, dinners and snacks), so you won’t have to go to any extra expense during your holiday with us. We also include the following:
A great week/weekend for those who want to get out beyond the confines of the Solent and into bigger water. Looking to do passages further afield like crossing the English Channel over to France, the Channel Islands, or down to Portland or Weymouth.
Perfect for those longer passages that add a bit more adventure to your sailing, this week/weekend will get you out of the croweded Solent and into waters further afield. Be aware that this may well involve channel crossings and more offshore-orientated sailing, which may mean rougher weather and more challenging conditions. Please ensure that you have a valid Passport with at least six months left on it prior to departure and bring it with you!
You’ll get to visit marinas and ports a little further afield than the Solent, like Cherbourg, Channel islands, or Portland or Weymouth. It’ll involve more intense and longer days sailing. Itinerary is subject to wind, tide and other weather conditions.
Along with some cracking sailing, you’ll get to visit places you didn’t visit on your RYA Competent Crew or Day Skipper course. The passages are longer and it’ll involve more quality sea-time, but it’s such a rewarding week/weekends sailing.
Courses run in a choice of two formats:
Starts from our Gosport marina base and visits various ports and marinas further afield.
During the summer months we also offer seven-day long passages to places like Northern France and the Channel Islands – Take a look at our live course calendar!
What better a way to celebrate that new RYA Competent Crew or Day Skipper qualification than with a Beyond the Solent week/weekend aboard one of our fleet yachts!
A great way to build extra mileage and enjoy some longer passages to locations further afield than the Solent, guided by one of our experienced and professional RYA qualified instructors.
You’ll get to see first hand why the south coast is the perfect place to build some miles and gain more experience.
With so many locations to chose from (weather dependant of course) you might go and see Portland or Weymouth, or how about metropolitan Brighton Marina or even Cherbourg and the Channel Islands for a great night out when you arrive? Our seven day Easter “Sail-fari’s” are aimed at crossing the channel and visiting the beautiful channel islands. There you’ll get to experience some incredible sailing, and longer passages, as well as much more challenging sailing conditions aboard one of our 44′ fleet yachts. A great way to build experience and also have a great holiday without the expense!
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Please ensure you have a valid Passport with at least six months left to run on it, and that you do bring it with you on the course. If you arrive without your passport you won’t be permitted to attend the course unless weather dictates we are staying in the UK. There will be NO exceptions to this rule and no refunds will be made, so make sure you have prepared accordingly!
All other paperwork for visiting the EU is done by us, so all you will need is your valid passport.
