Here is the 5th ‘Top Tip’ in our series for students studying both RYA Day Skipper theory and the RYA Coastal / Yachtmaster Theory course. Whether you are studying on-line, in the classroom or with a correspondence course at home these navigation tips are designed to help you complete and pass your Day Skipper or Yachtmaster theory course. Hopefully fully fledged Day Skippers will also find them useful reminders of their Day Skipper theory course!

Tip of the Day – Day Skipper and Yachtmaster Theory

Finding Tidal Heights

Today’s ‘Top Tip’ is all about where you can find tidal height information.

To find the average height of a spring or neap tide or even HAT  at various ports you can use the often overlooked table either on the charts or on page 12 in the training almanac.

Please let us have your questions about this subject or any queries about Day Skipper or Yachtmaster theory. When we get enough we will devote a page to an ‘ask the expert’ session.
