Passengers were stranded yesterday when the ferry they were travelling on from Portsmouth to Ryde on the Isle of Wight ran aground on Ryde Sands. The incident happened during the annual Round the Island Race in which nearly 1800 yachts were competing. The Fastcat was joined by a competitor in the race who also went aground on the sandbank. With the whole Commodore Yachting fleet racing in the Round the Island race we managed to catch Emerald Star crossing the start line with our long lens. Wishing everybody a fantastic day racing! Good luck  to all especially to those crews racing for charity.
