We are offering a weekend sailing course this weekend 20th – 21st August reduced from £210.00 to £175.00. Beginners can use the weekend as a Start Yachting course or the first part of a RYA Competent Crew course. You can complete this start sailing course by adding a further 3 day weekend or 2 more weekends to gain a Competent Crew certificate. If you have taken your Day Skipper theory course you can use the weekend towards your RYA Day Skipper practical.

Day Skipper Theory

With a wonderful sunny Easter Bank holiday Day skipper and Competent Crew students catch up with a quick navigation theory lesson before getting out on the water on their RYA sailing course. For Competent Crew students this is the first step in learning to sail and becoming a useful crew member on a yacht. For Day Skipper students, learning to navigate is as important as the practical sailing course especially in the tidal waters of the Solent. On a Day Skipper course each day starts with a theory lesson on board the boat before starting sailing which gives students the opportunity to revise after their RYA theory course.

This is the maiden voyage on our brand new Bavaria 38 Victoria Star, a welcome addition to the Commodore Yachting fleet.

New Bavaria 38 arrives

Solent yachtcharter company Commodore Yachting took delivery of a brand new charter boat yesterday. Straight from the Bavaria factory in Germany the lorry arrived at Gosport Marina in the middle of the night before being unloaded in front of the expectant Commodore Yachting staff braving the winter chill in the marina car park.

Safely unloaded it is now in a cradle awaiting its mast and rigging and a smart coat of anti foul paint. Meanwhile staff were able to climb aboard to inspect the shiny new yacht.

“This 38 foot yacht will be a superb addition to the fleet with its spacious, light and airy accommodation sleeping 8 comfortably in 3 double cabins and 2 single side berths in the saloon. As a charter yacht the Bavaria 38 is a perfect choice but we will also be using it for students learning to sail on Competent Crew and Day Skipper courses within the RYA sailing school.”
