The Saronic Gulf and Peloponnese flotilla will take you north via Epidavros, with its famous amphitheatre to Aegina where you can purchase fruit and vegetables from a floating market, sample the locally grown  or shop for traditional pottery.

The Saronic Gulf lies to the north of Poros and includes some beautiful harbours and the world-famous theatre above Paleo Epidauros, a world heritage site.

A visit to Hydra will take you back in time as cars are banned and donkeys rule the road. Next, historic Nauplion with its imposing castle and Venetian quarter before cruising around the delightful fishing ports of Astros and Ermioni. Towards the end of this flotilla holiday you will get a last chance to socialise with the rest of the flotilla at a beach party on the island of Spetsus before a days’s free sailing and returning to the home base of Poros.

The Weather

Sunshine can virtually be guaranteed between early May and late October with temperatures ranging from the low 70′s in early season to low 90′s from late June to August.

Sailing Conditions

Winds are predictable with moderate to fresh winds (force 2-5) in the afternoon. Abenefit of our yacht base in Póros is that you usually find yourself sailing downwind or on a reach back to Póros rather than beating back up towards the Athenian marinas against the prevailing wind. It all helps to make for an easier and more enjoyable sail homeward-bound.

Flights and Transfers

Saturday morning scheduled flights from Gatwick or Heathrow to Athens with afternoon or evening return. Flight time 3 hrs 20 min. Direct regional flights from Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow available on request. 40 – 50 minute road transfer to Piraeus 1 hour Hydrofoil / Flying Cat crossing to Poros. We sometimes operate a coach or taxi transfer direct to Galatas for a 5 min crossing to Poros (total time 2 hrs 30 mins)
