RYA Sailing School office in the sun!
With the short cold December days keeping everyone off the water in the UK this RYA Sailing School has set up office in the sun! The Commodore Yachting office is open as usual aboard the sailing yacht Fantasia currently anchored in La Paz, Mexico. Karen and Stuart are able to keep hold of the Commodore mainsheet whilst spending a few weeks cruising around the beautiful Sea of Cortez. New for 2011 will be a series of courses aimed at anyone interested in blue water cruising or taking part in events such as the ARC and Round the World Rally. These courses will enable students to cast off the dock lines and leave the office behind forever or maybe even take it with you!
These weekend courses will include Short Handed Sailing, Spinnaker training, Boat Maintenance, Emergency Boat Repairs and First Aid. The first course will be a two day First Aid Course with the first day covering the RYA First Aid syllabus and the second day covering the kinds of emergencies that might be encountered whilst cruising ie stings and bites, drugs and their uses, suturing wounds etc. The date for this course is 9th – 10th April and if you book before 1st January the course fee will be £199.00 avoiding the Vat increase to 20%.
