RYA Active Marinas – Own Boat Tuition
Commodore Yachting were delighted to take part in the second RYA Active Marina event at Gosport Marina on Saturday May 11th. After a successful ‘Crew Training’ day in April this RYA event focused on improving boat handling skills for marina berth holders with a ‘Own Boat Tuition’ day. Boat owners booked 2 hour training sessions with experienced RYA instructors from RYA sailing schools based at the marina to experience the difference a short boat handling session could make to their sailing enjoyment. Feedback from those that took part was excellent throughout making the day a resounding success all round.
The idea behind the RYA Active Marina project is to encourage boat owners and their crews to enjoy they boats more and meet fellow marina berth holders at marina events.
The next event in the Gosport Marina Active Marina programme is a ‘Cruise in Company to Chichester Marina on June 23rd – 24th. There will be a chart briefing before the event to help skippers and crews with planning the passage and pilotage into Chichester.
