Rolex Fastnet Race arrival in Plymouth
Solent based RYA sailing school yacht Adelaide Star arrived in Plymouth at the end of the 2009 Rolex Fastnet race at 0140 on Saturday 15th August. The Commodore Yachting crew celebrated their arrival in 231st place with a bottle of champagne and 7 cans of Stella Artois between the 8 strong crew. An early morning call was put in to replenish supplies and Fastnet widows Karen and Rachel came to the rescue bringing beer all the way from Gosport and arriving just in time for breakfast. Skipper Stuart Cooper was delighted with the result beating many larger and faster boats with the Solent based sailing school yacht which is more suited to teaching RYA Day Skipper and Competent Crew courses rather than offshore racing.

Congratulations to Stuart and crew. On the tracker it looked like a tactically smart sail and a real storming sail back across the Irish Sea. No doubt about it, a job well done and I really enjoyed watching it unfold.
