2 Day Course

If you have never been on a yacht before or if you want to brush up on your skills this is the course for you. You will get a chance to steer, handle sails and be part of the crew. After the course you will have a taste to do more sailing and further your skills and experience.You will be awarded a certificate for completing this course. The 2 days can count towards the 5 day Competent Crew Course

Your accommodation will be on board one of our Bavaria yachts with breakfast and lunch provided. Evening meals are taken ashore. You will join the yacht on the Friday evening.

5 Day Course

This is an ideal course for beginners or anyone with limited experience as you will be taught basic seamanship and helmsmanship. After the course you should be a useful crew member. You will be awarded a certificate for completing this course.

Your accommodation will be on board one of our Bavaria yachts with breakfast, lunch and evening meal provided. You will join the yacht either Friday or Sunday evening.

Can be either Saturday to Wednesday, Monday to Friday or over a 2 day and 3 day weekend. All year round.

Cost £345—£450

 

5 Day Course

We suggest that before the course you have had a minimum of 5 days sea time, 4 night hours and 100 miles. You should have Day Skipper Theory or knowledge to that level.

During the course you will be taught basic pilotage, boat handling, seamanship and navigation. After the course you should be able to skipper a small yacht in familiar waters by day. You will be continually assessed and awarded a certificate for passing the course.

Your accommodation will be on board one of our Bavaria yachts with breakfast, lunch and evening meal provided. You will join the yacht either Friday or Sunday evening.

Can be either Saturday to Wednesday, Monday to Friday or over a 2 day and 3 day weekend. All year round.

9 day course + exam time

We suggest that before the course you have had a minimum of 5 days sea time, 4 night hours and 100 miles.

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to navigation and meteorology. During the course you will be taught basic pilotage, boat handling, seamanship and navigation. After the course you will have gained background knowledge to skipper a small yacht in familiar waters by day. There are 2 theory exam papers at the end of this course and a certificate will be awarded for passing. You will be continually assessed and awarded a certificate for passing the practical element of this course.

Your accommodation will be on board one of our Bavaria yachts with breakfast and lunch provided every day. An evening meal will be provided on 4 nights.

5 Day Course + practical exam

You will need to have had a minimum of 30 days sea time (2 days as skipper), 12 night hours and 800 miles. You should have Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster Theory or knowledge to that level and sailing skills to Day Skipper Practical standard, along with a First Aid certificate and VHF certificate.

During the course you will be taught skippering techniques for coastal and off shore passages. After the course you should be able to skipper a yacht on coastal passages by day and night.

Exam 6—10 hours

Your accommodation will be on board one of our Bavaria yachts with breakfast, lunch and evening meal provided. You will join the yacht either Friday or Sunday evening.

Can be either Saturday to Wednesday, Monday to Friday or over a 2 day and 3 day weekend + exam period. All year round.

Cost £450—£525 + exam fee

 

5 Day Course + practical exam

You will need to have had a minimum of 50 days sea time (5 days as skipper), 12 night hours and 2500 miles. 5 passages over 60M including 2 overnight and 2 as skipper. You should have Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster Theory or knowledge to that level and sailing skills to Coastal Skipper Practical standard, along with a First Aid certificate and VHF certificate

During the course you will be taught skippering techniques for coastal and off shore passages. After the course you should be able to skipper a yacht on coastal passages by day and night.

Exam 8—12 hours

Your accommodation will be on board one of our Bavaria yachts with breakfast, lunch and evening meal provided. You will join the yacht either Friday or Sunday evening.

Can be either Saturday to Wednesday, Monday to Friday or over a 2 day and 3 day weekend + exam period. All year round.
