Ever wondered what happens when you press the red button on your VHF radio? Now is the time to find out with a free bite size RYA information sessions at our Gosport Marina classroom.

Solent based RYA sailing school, Commodore Yachting are opening their doors with their first ever coffee hour on Saturday 26th February. Set to become a regular weekly event during the season anyone is welcome to drop into the Commodore Barge for coffee between 9 and 10am. Each week there will be a chance to talk to our RYA instructors about practically anything boaty with a special theme each week. For our first coffee morning there will be a chance to get some hands on experience with digital select calling  - DSC on our training radio sets.

Future coffee hours will include the chance for boat owners to talk to ‘Jerry the Rigger’ about all your rigging requirements or if you don’t own a boat come down and learn to splice a rope. The RNLI will also be paying us a visit to talk about boat safety and will carry out lifejacket safety checks.

Keep a look out for a list of dates and topics on our website and also on our marina notice board.  We look forward to seeing you shortly!
