Fast Track Yachtmaster Coastal
The Fast Track Yachtmaster Coastal is the second module in the Yachtmaster Fastrack scheme. It follows on from the Day Skipper module during which anyone learning to sail can acheive Day Skipper in two weeks.
During this module you will cover the following:
* RYA Yachtmaster Theory
This course covers advanced navigation, including chart work, position fixing, tides, buoyage and offshore passage planning as well as the essential subjects of safety, International Regulations for Preventing Collision at Sea and meteorology. The use of GPS is also included.
* Sailing Revision week
The revision week is intended to revise and reinforce skills already learnt.
* Boat Handling / Sail Trim
You will spend time learning and refining skills.
* RYA First Aid
An essential qualification to enable you take deal with an accident or medical emergency on board a sailing yacht
* VHF
This one day course teaches you how to use a marine VHF radio.
* Milebuilder Cruise
During this 2 week cruise you will experience offshore sailing during which you will maintain a watch keeping system and navigation into a range of ports and harbours.
* Self Skippered Week
This is the chance to put all you have learned into practice
* Yachtmaster Coastal Preparation and Exam
The Coastal Skipper course is intended to teach the skills and techniques required to skipper a yacht safely on coastal and offshore passages by day and night. The course will include passage planning, pilotage , collision regulations. You will demonstrate that you can take charge of a yacht, manage a crew effectively and control the yacht in a confined space under sail and power.
At the end of this 5 day course you will take the 2 day Yachtmaster Coastal exam.
