Sail Croatia

Another new venture for Commodore Yachting, we are able to offer charters in Croatia. Our partner compant in Split has an impressive fleet of yachts ranging in size from a 31ft yacht to a 50ft catamaran. With inexpensive flights and easy airport transfers to their base at Marina Kastella your Adriatic cruise can be almost as accessible as sailing in the UK. We have inspected their base and are confident that you will enjoy your holiday as much as we did! We hope to have more bases available shortly.

Our partner’s base in Croatia offers unrivalled sailing in the clear blue seas of the Adriatic. Within minutes of leaving the airport you are on board a luxurious sailing yacht, free to discover the countless islands with thousands of hidden bays and historic towns. You can go ashore to explore the ancient narrow streets, drop the anchor for a cooling dip in the cooling waters or just sit back and relax.

Sailing area

From our bases in Split and Sibinik you will be well placed to cruise the Dalmatian coast and the many islands in the area. Marina Kastella, close to the ancient walled Roman city of Split, is well situated for cruising both the southern Adriatic as well as the coastline and islands further north. From Sibinik you are ideally placed to visit the Kornati Islands designated as a National Park and the spectacular Krka waterfalls.

Sailing conditions

Our bases offer excellent sailing conditions with generally light to moderate winds in the main season and more variable winds early and late season. Although the prevailing wind in the summer is a north westerly, force 3-4 on occasions a strong wind called the Bora may blow from the North East. May and June offer the best sailing with more relaxed cruising conditions in July and August.

Berthing

Croatia has numerous modern marinas with first class facilities, however you may prefer to visit the smaller towns and villages where you will moor stern to in the harbour or pick up a buoy. There are also many bays and small coves where you may anchor.

Yachts

Both bases have a well appointed fleet of yachts managed by our carefully selected partner companies. We are confident that they will be prepared to the highest standard with optional comfort package. The charter price will include dingy with outboard engine, chart plotter, pre-paid mobile phone with Croatian sim card, and welcome package. A skipper ad hostess can be included at an extra cost.

Travel

Low cost flights are available from a range of UK airports to Split. Our Split base is situated in Marina Kaštela 20 km north of the centre of Split, and 9 km south from the Split Airport with easy transfers available from the airport to the marinas.
