Lynx Effect

Canberra Star a Bavaria 38 from the Commodore Yachting fleet stood by last night as a £200000 motor boat caught fire in the Solent. After hearing a Mayday call Stuart Cooper, principle of the Gosport based sailing school offered assistance to the crew of the burning cruiser who were out on a RYA Day Skipper course. RYA instructor Steve White and the student were taken off safely by a police motor launch. The motor boat, Lynx Effect sank shortly afterwards and the spot has been marked by a buoy.
