Boat Handling Course
One day Boat Handling course
This one day course is designed for anyone who has some sailing experience but would like to develop boat handling skills with a dedicated Boat Handling course. The course will concentrate on a range of boat handling skills especially close quarter manoeuvres. The course is particularly useful for anyone chartering a yacht abroad or planning a flotilla holiday as we cover stern to mooring as well as coming along side and anchoring. Anyone who has taken the RYA Day Skipper or Coastal Skipper course will find this a useful opportunity to gain more experience and learn new boat handling skills and techniques.

- Laying an anchor
The day will cover the following:
Berthing alongside a pontoon
Stern to mooring using lazy lines
Stern to mooring using anchor
Avoiding pitfalls
Strategies to recover anchor if fouled
Man overboard exercise
Mooring on a buoy
Anchoring
Course fee: £110.00
Our next Boat Handling days: March 24th, March 25th
We use our corner at Gosport Marina to set up lazy lines to simulate the kind of mooring you would find when chartering a yacht in Greece and other parts of the Mediterranean. There will also be an opportunity to deploy the anchor when coming in stern to in the absence of lazy lines.
This is a full day of practical boat handling.
